This policy explains the use of cookies and similar technologies on SemDev. It must be kept consistent with the actual cookie banner and technologies deployed on the website.
1. What cookies are
Cookies are small files or similar identifiers stored on or read from your device. They can be session or persistent cookies and can be set by SemDev or by third parties.
2. Strictly necessary cookies
Cookies that are strictly necessary to provide a service explicitly requested by the user, such as shopping-cart, authentication, security, load-balancing or checkout cookies, may be used without consent where permitted by applicable law. They must not be repurposed for unrelated tracking.
3. Optional cookies
Analytics, advertising, behavioural tracking, social-media tracking and other non-essential cookies are not set before the user has given valid consent where consent is required. Refusing optional cookies must be possible without losing access to the core store functions.
4. Cookie categories
- Necessary: cart, account login, security and checkout functionality;
- Preferences: optional settings that remember user choices;
- Analytics: measurement of website use, when enabled and lawfully consented to;
- Marketing: advertising or cross-site tracking, only when enabled and lawfully consented to.
5. Actual cookie list
The store must maintain an accurate cookie table generated from the real production setup, including cookie/local-storage name, provider, purpose, category and duration. Insert or synchronise the actual list here: [ACTUAL_COOKIE_TABLE_OR_LINK]. Do not publish a generic list that does not match the site.
6. Managing consent
Users can accept or reject optional categories through the cookie banner. Withdrawing or changing consent must be as easy as giving it. Provide a persistent link or button here: [COOKIE_SETTINGS_LINK_OR_BUTTON]. Withdrawal does not affect processing that was lawful before withdrawal.
7. Third-party services
If third-party analytics, video, chat, maps, social plugins or advertising technologies are enabled, identify them and their purposes here or in the consent manager: [THIRD_PARTY_COOKIE_SERVICES]. Such services must not be activated before required consent.
8. Browser settings
Browser controls can also delete or block cookies, but blocking strictly necessary cookies may prevent features such as login, cart or checkout from working correctly.
